Nobuko “Jo” Sawada, 86, of Hilo died March 3, 2013, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Jan. 3, 1927, in Hilo, she was a retired seamstress for Hilo Hattie and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by husband, James Sawada of Hilo; son, Alden (Cathy) Sawada of Kona; brothers, Sadaki Fujisawa of Hilo, Noboru Fujisawa of Maui; sisters, Michiko Yahata and Kiyoko (Donald) Tokuoka, both of Honolulu; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
